Assembly Secretariat employees go on indefinite strike

JAMMU, Dec 24: The employees of J&K Legislative Assembly Secretariat today went on indefinite strike as their issues were not redressed by the authorities.
Since the present Secretary of the Assembly is superannuating at the end of this month, the employees are demanding that as per precedence, their senior most officer be allowed to assume the office as Incharge Secretary, besides the issue of held up promotions from last one year be resolved without any further delay. The employees resolved that the strike will continue till their demands are not meted out.
Chairman, Secretariat Coordination Committee, Ghulam Rasool Mir, along with his team, while extending support to the employees of Assembly Secretariat, assured that the Secretariat Coordination Committee is with them.
He reiterated if the demands of the employees are not fulfilled by the authorities till December 26, the whole Civil Secretariat will go on indefinite strike to support the employees of Assembly Secretariat.
