Assembly to discuss Singh’s revelations today

Srinagar, Oct 4: Legislative Assembly is tomorrow holding discussions on the revelations made by former Army chief General VK Singh about the money being paid to the Ministers in Jammu and Kashmir since 1947.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul informed the House during Question Hour that he will allow a discussion on revelations made by former Army chief General VK Singh tomorrow.
The opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) raised the issue of discussion on Singh’s revelations during the question hour. PDP President Muhbooba Mufti urged the Speaker that time should be announced to debate the Singh related controversy in the Assembly.
The PDP president also said the debate will also inform the House about the accusations levelled by National Conference Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal against a Minister that he used Army to kill his nephew and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah few years back.
The PDP members, who rose to feet over the issue, joined in the normal business of the Assembly after the assurance.
