Assistive devices distributed among ‘Divyangjans’, senior citizens

SAMBA, Sept 24: District Administration Samba in conjunction with Composite Regional Centre Srinagar (CRC) and the Social Welfare Department, organized an assistive devices distribution camp in Samba, under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The Camp organized as a part of the Scheme of Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) and Rashtriya Vasyoshri Yojana (RVY), was aimed to provide assistive devices and prosthetic aids to 201 beneficiaries, whose survey had been previously conducted by ALIMCO.
Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, was the chief guest on the occasion. He addressed the ‘divyangjan’ beneficiaries and assured them that efforts would soon be made to lay the foundation stone for the construction of CRC Samba. He expressed his appreciation for the role played by Deputy Commissioner Samba, CRC Srinagar, and the Social Welfare Department in organizing this distribution camp and providing assistive devices to physically challenged individuals at their doorstep.
Among others, DC Samba Abhishek Sharma, SSP Samba Benam Tosh, ADC Samba Suresh Chander and DSWO Samba Nawaz Sharif were present in the programme.
