JAMMU, Dec 17: ASSOCHAM J&K Council today suggested Incentives for IT services and development of Tourism Circuit in Jammu to Dr V K Saraswat, member of NITI Aayog in Jammu along with other suggestions for the holistic development of the Union Territory.
Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Council during meeting briefed Dr Saraswat, about the issues being faced by the Trade and Industry of Jammu and Kashmir and shared some suggestions for the development of J&K.
“J&K can be one of the top destinations in the country for setting up BPOs and other IT and ITES related services. We have a lot of skilled manpower available across J&K. It will also increase job opportunities in J&K. The Government should look at some incentives to attract major players from across India,” Batra said.
“We have many tourists attraction in and around Jammu, like Mansar, Patnitop, Bhaderwah, Basohli and many similar, which can be developed as major tourist attraction. Developing these destinations can help boost the economy of Jammu division,” he added.
ASSOCHAM also suggested freight subsidy, access to finance and reservation to locals in land allotments.
Dr Saraswat gave patient hearing to ASSOCHAM and assured that their suggestions will be considered in policy making.
