Association passes resolutions over issues of Teachers, Masters

JAMMU, June 19: Jammu Kashmir Teacher/Master Association passed several resolutions with two-third majority and planned future strategy in order to get various burning issues of Teachers/Masters solved by the concerned authorities.
Talking to media persons after the meeting in which the resolutions were passed, the Association President Rakesh Singh urged Principal Secretary to give powers to Chief Education Officers to effect transfers of Teachers as per transfer policy of the department. “Transfer of teachers at Secretariat level is not possible keeping in view large number of teachers and different topographies of different districts,” he said and also demanded to fix separate quota of SSRB recruited teachers in promotion of Masters as their mode of recruitment is totally different.
Rakesh Singh urged the Government to introduce Biotechnology in at least 5 Higher Secondary Schools in each district in the interest of students. “Biotechnology which is fastest emerging stream due to its future prospects in global market, is totally ignored by committees which have been given task to introduce new subjects in Higher Secondary level schools and due to this thousands of students who want to opt Biotechnology in HSS are deprived, which is against the spirit of New Education Policy,” he said.
The Association leader endorsed the Government decision to restrict DPC of those who acquired PG Degrees in Science through distance education. Mr Singh appealed to exclude all such candidates from seniority list on permanent basis and even not give them chance also on basis of bonafide certificate which they may easily procure from such universities by hook and crook.
Singh also urged SPD Samagra Shiksha to provide Rs 6000 per camp to provide refreshment to Government school students who are attending summer camps as this will also increase enrollment of students in such camps.
