JAMMU, Apr 27: Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Higher Education Department, Tanveer Jehan, assured the College Teachers Association (Jammu Wing) that the long pending placement or promotion orders of around 500 Assistant professors would be issued immediately after reopening of the offices in Srinagar Secretariat.
This was stated by the Commissioner/ Secretary when Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, president and Dr Satesh Bhan, general secretary, CTA (Jammu Wing), called upon her in her office.
Among other issues discussed with the Commissioner/Secretary was consideration of deputation of college teachers for one semester PhD course and framing of career advancement rules.
She also assured that the direct teaching hours for the college teachers would be reviewed before the commencement of the next academic session.
