ASTI demands separate policy for established local micro units

JAMMU, Nov 3: Association of Small & Tiny Industries (ASTI), Jammu province today demanded a separate policy for established local micro units.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of the Association Harbinder Singh described media persons as to how established micro units are suffering and are being completely left ignored in Jammu. “Sons of the soil are being forced to close down their established units while they are trying to create employment for themselves as well as other local youth,” he added.
Harbinder Singh further stated that the financial institutions and banks are going against business rules as well as Government of India (GoI) and RBI guidelines. “In last 50 years, GoI has induced so many packages for development of J&K and its industry where micro units constitute 80% of the industry investment. He demanded an investigation to know where this investment is being allotted and why only big industries are enjoying benefits while micro units are offered locks and involved in legal processes without giving them right time, restructuring support and relaxations to perform in this disturbed/landlocked Union Territory.
Senior vice-president of the Association Sanjay Chopra said that all the concerned departments are sleeping on the issue while banks are exploiting and going against PM’s vision of ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’, Make In India and Start Up India.
General secretary of ASTI Ajay Jagotra stated that all the concerned departments viz. I&C Department, MSME-DFO and banks instead of encouraging such first generation entrepreneurs from Jammu are giving them step motherly treatment and are not acting as ‘growth partners’.
Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma (legal advisor) demanded strong probe against officials of banks and concerned departments who are acting as Post Office by forwarding such grievances from one department to other, with no right action at right time, helping themselves to save their jobs. He urged all concerned authorities of Jammu to process every step to shift all cases filed by the banks towards jurisdiction of Jammu High Court involving professionally selected arbitrators.
