Athrot selects 35 Kalakaars during audition at Jagti

JAMMU, Oct 8: The on-going mega talent hunt ‘Kashir Kalakaar’ initiated by Athrot, a social organisation, today held 2nd phase of auditions at Jagti township of Kashmiri migrants where 35 talented artists were selected by the jury after day-long screening.
The auditions for the mega talent hunt event ‘Kashir Kalakaar’ for KP children which was a great success last year is conducting auditions for season 2 and as a part of its ongoing hunt for the talent auditions were held at Jagti today in singing, dancing, instrument playing, and dress competition.
The programme was conducted under the SUPERVISION of Kanwal Peshin, a noted artists and representative of the Athrot Kashir Kalakaar which got a good response from the inmates of the Jagti township.
According to the organisers overwhelming response was seen in the township as ‘Kalakaars’ thronged the audition venue where around 70 talented children participated in audition judged by Ravi Bhan noted music director and renowned singer, Rishab Tsewang Dorjee music composer and versatile singer, Ashok Ji Dhar Gowhar poet and Pankaj Handoo a choreographer.
The space for the venue was provided by Shiv Mandir Trust Jagti for the benefit of the talented kids of Jagti township which was duly appreciated by organisers.
The organisers would continue to select the talented KP children and later hold a mega event to showcase the talent of the children.
The initiative is to provide a platform to the children belonging to KP community and give them a kick-start to explore other possibilities to showcase their unique talent, organisers disclosed that grand finale winners will receive awards and chances to perform in albums and various broadcasting programs in and outside the State. Pankaj Handoo a choreographer was among the judges who will prepare some songs which will showcase cultural heritage and tradition of KPs. Surinder Pandit a social activist from Jagti including Sanjay Ganjoo had made elaborate arrangements for the auditions.
