ATM fraud case solved

POONCH, Sept 10: Police today claimed to have solved a case of ATM fraud by arresting an accused and recovering Rs 30,000 from his possession.
A written application was received on September 1 at Police Station Poonch from one person namely Mohd Jahngeer son of Fiaz Hussain resident of Shahpur who mentioned that his ATM card of J&K Bank was swapped by two unknown persons supposed to help him in withdrawing cash from ATM Machine but fraudulently withdrew Rs 40,000 from his account through his ATM card.
Acting on the complaint, a case FIR Number 188/2022 u/s 420 IPC was registered at Police Station Poonch and investigation started. During the course of investigation, two suspects namely Mohd Shabeer son of Zakir Hussain, resident of Mangnar (Poonch) and Sarfraz Ahmed son of Sakhi Mohd, resident of Sakhi Maidan (Mendhar) were apprehended from Bus stand Poonch and during questioning both confessed their involvement in the commission of the offence. On their disclosure, Rs 30000 was recovered.
Both the accused were arrested instantly. The recovery was made by SHO Police Station Poonch Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Poonch Nawaz Ahmed and overall supervision of SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra.
