Atmosphere of fear dangerous for nation: Ex-MLC

NOWSHERA, Dec 27: Chief spokesperson of JKPCC Ravinder Sharma (Ex-MLC) has said that an atmosphere of fear and panic in a large section of Indian society by the actions of the Govt would be dangerous for the future of the nation.
Interacting with cross section of society during his tour of Sunderbani-Nowshera areas, Sharma lashed out at the BJP Govt for such actions which create atmosphere of mistrust and fear in a large section. This kind of authoritarian attitude is not in the true sense of Indian democracy in keeping with its pluralistic character, he added.
Sharma said country reached to the heights in all fields because of the progressive policies and a liberal democracy most suitable for a country with such vast diversity. This maintained an atmosphere of perfect harmony and peace pre-requisite for all round development developmen, progress and prosperity.
He feared that current atmosphere if not handled and dealt carefully will lead to disastrous consequences impacting peace, harmony and overall progress of our nation. The vested political interests should not be above nation, he said urging people to reject divisive politics and maintain traditional harmony at all costs.
Senior Congress leader expressed grave concern over heavy firing by Pakistan in various areas near LoC creating fear psychosis amongst people. He asked Army and civil administration to take all necessary measures to safeguard the lives and property of border residents.
