JAMMU, Jan 16: An accused in an attempt to murder case was arrested today by Bakshi Nagar police within 24 hours of occurrence of crime.
According to a police official, over some old rivalry, a man identified as Vikas alias Khatta son of Rampal, resident of Reshamghar, this afternoon intercepted Sunny Sharma (40) son of Vijay Sharma, resident of Reshamghar, when he was travelling in his car and attacked with a sharp edged weapon.
“In the attack, Sunny Sharma got injured. He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment”, he said, adding after registering a case FIR No 11/2018 under Sections 341, 307, 34 RPC 4/25 Arms Act, Bakshi Nagar conducted various raids and finally arrested the accused and also recovered weapon of offence (toka) late in the evening.
The arrest was made by a police team headed by SHO, police station, Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Naresh Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Pranav Mahajan and overall supervision of SP City, Dr Vinod Kumar.
