UDHAMPUR, Aug 19: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling under the jurisdiction of Rehambal Police Station, and rescued 14 numbers of cattle.
Reports said that during routine checking at Rehambal, Police stopped a truck bearing registration number PB10CE- 5938 and during search, 14 bovine animals were found loaded in it without any valid permission.
Police rescued all the bovine animals and arrested driver of the vehicle, identified as Gulzar son of Israr of Meerut, UP.
In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Rehambal and further investigation is underway.
