Attempt of bovine smuggling foiled, accused arrested

REASI, July 18: Police Post Bhambla foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested the accused besides rescuing four numbers of cattle.
Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source that some individuals were transporting bovine animals in a Tata Mobile bearing Registration number JK02BK- 0804 from Chowki Choura towards Kashmir for illegal sale, a police team immediately swung into action and apprehended the bovine smuggler.
Identified as Mohd Akram, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Siot, Tehsil Sunderbani, District Rajouri, he was transporting four bovine animals without any valid permission from the concerned authorities. The police rescued the animals and seized the vehicle besides arresting the accused.
A case FIR under section 223 BNS 11 (1) PCA Act has been registered at P/S Pouni for the further investigation.
The whole operation was led by ICPP Bhambla and SHO Pouni under supervision of DySP HQs Reasi.
