Attempt of liquor smuggling to Katra foiled, 2 held

REASI, Apr 13: Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling to holy town Katra and arrested two bootleggers besides affecting seizure of 29 pouches of liquor, here at Reasi.
A Police team, led by Dy SP Headquarters, Mohan Lal along with SHO Reasi, Inspector Dalip Singh, laid a special naka near Trikuta Filling Station (Petrol Pump) in Reasi and intercepted the accused, who were on way to Katra in an auto, bearing registration number JK20-6671.
During checking of the auto, the Police team recovered 29 poly pouches, measuring 375/375/ ml each, of J&K Excise liquor.  Police seized the auto along with the liquor pouches and also arrested the accused, identified as Mubarak Singh of Bhaga Reasi and Abdul Karim of Sirla Bhaga.
In this connection, a case under Section 48(a) & 56(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
