SRINAGAR: An attempt to loot cash from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in south Kashmir district of Kulgam was foiled and one miscreant with toy pistol was arrested by police, official sources said.
They said a group of miscreants made an attempt to loot cash from ATM of Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB) at Yaripora, Kulgam, in the wee hours of Friday. However, a police party patrolling the area noticed and challenged the miscreants who fled away.
Later, one of them identified as Saqib Rashid Ganie, a local resident, was overpowered and a toy pistol was recovered from his possession.
Police have registered a case and launched a massive hunt to nab other miscreants, they said. (AGENCIES)
