Attempt to loot J&K Bank foiled in Pulwama

Srinagar, Jun 8: An alert guard today foiled an attempt by some unidentified people to loot a Jammu and Kashmir Bank  branch in Pulwama, south Kashmir, said the officials.

 The officials said a group of unidentified people entered the bank branch at Wanpora in Pulwama district. But, before they could attempt the robbery, the security guard of the bank opened fire, after which they escaped.

Senior police and security force officials have reached the spot and launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.   There has been sharp increase in the incidents of bank looting in the last six-month in the Valley.(AGENCIES)
