“For us, the decision of August 5 is irrevocable. The resolve to take Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on a new path is also unwavering. On August 5, the entire Constitution of India and the law came into force in J&K. We removed biggest obstacle to the development of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh,” the Prime Minister said.

“Together, we have to take Jammu and Kashmir to new heights. We also have a huge goal of developed India by 2047 before us, to fulfil, which we have to engage in nation building with strong resolutions,” Modi said.
Meanwhile, in a series of tweets on fourth anniversary of scrapping of special status of J&K, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said because of Article 370 abrogation, Kashmir has not only returned to mainstream but there is also peace in the Valley and path of development has been strengthened.
Expressing thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the decision, he said it was on August 5 that Modi took historic decision of abrogating Article 370 and united Kashmir forever.
“A new dawn of peace and development has emerged in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370. There is an unprecedented change in Jammu and Kashmir. The system of two flags, two Constitutions and two Darbars has ended,” Shah said.
He said poor and depressed were deprived of their rights in Jammu and Kashmir but after scrapping of special status, they have started getting their rights.
“Youths are getting new opportunities of employment in J&K now,” the Home Minister said, adding that not only the democracy has reached grassroots level but separatism has also been curbed.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said abrogation of Article 370 has played significant role in development of Jammu and Kashmir.
“There has been remarkable 170 percent increase in tourist footfall, setting J&K on the right track of prosperity and progress,” he said.
Gadkari said with Greenfield Expressway which will connect Rajasthan with Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir, J&K will reclaim its position as a prime destination for employment and development.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reacted on four years of Articles 370 and 35-A abrogation saying they were father and nurturer of separatism, terrorism, familyism and misrule in Jammu and Kashmir for decades and a blot on our national unity and integrity.
“With this historic work done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where the resolve of ‘One Country-One Mark-One Legislation was fulfilled, while joining with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas’ today Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are touching new heights of development. These areas are providing more powerful and new dimensions to the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat,” Yogi said.
Calling Article 370 as “draconian”, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri said the milestone decision was welcomed by the people.
“I join my brothers and sisters of Jammu and Kashmir in celebrating an era of progress and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Puri said.
