Auqaf to establish 3 Nursing Colleges

JAMMU, Dec 4: Minister for Hajj, Auqaf and Horticulture, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that Auqaf Islamia Jammu would be establishing three Nursing Colleges in the region.
Reviewing the progress of setting up the Nursing Colleges in the region at a high level meeting here today, the Minister said that these colleges would be established shortly at Jammu, Kishtwar and Rajouri with Auqaf funding.
He said establishment of these colleges would go a long way in meeting the demand for trained human resource for the existing and upcoming health institutions in the State.
He said on the instructions of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed the Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has been tasked to get these Nursing Colleges established well in time.  “While BGSBU will establish its own School of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences within its Rajouri campus, the other two institutes would be its constituent colleges,” he stated.
Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Prof Javaid Mussarat, Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Dr Mandeep Kumar Bandari, Secretary to Chief Minister, M H Malik, Additional Secretary Revenue, Special Officer Auqaf and Administrators of Auqaf Islamia Jammu, Rajouri and Kishtwar attended the meeting.
The Vice Chancellor, BGSBU briefed the Minister about the measures taken for the establishment of the nursing colleges.
The Minister asked the concerned to ensure completion of requisite parameters and modalities well in time for affiliation and registration of these nursing colleges with the Nursing Council of India. He also stressed for obtaining necessary NOCs from the concerned departments at the earliest so that Nursing Council of India would be approached in time for issuance of authorization for the purpose.
The Minister said that Auqaf would construct its own buildings for housing of the nursing colleges, adding that land for Nursing College at Jammu has been identified.
The Minister asked the concerned to start the process for engaging experienced faculty members and Principal for these colleges.
