‘Australian Sikh Support’ provides aid to Pancheri victims

JAMMU, Sept 15: Australia-based volunteer group, Australian Sikh Support, today donated tonnes of relief material including flour, rice, pulses, cooking oil and furnishing matting for aid and rehabilitation of Pancheri landslide victims.
The relief material which was loaded into two trucks was sent off this morning from Sant Mela Singh Ashram Digiana, Jammu in presence of the members of the group.
The group has joined hands with the Gurdwara authorities of Dera Nangli Sahib Poonch and J&K United Sikh Front to provide relief to the flood victims.
Pancheri village near Udhumpur has been one of the worst hit regions in Jammu where a whole village was washed away in landslides following heavy rains claiming fifty lives.
Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangli Sahib Poonch and general secretary, J&K Sikh United Front, Avtar Singh Khalsa, were also present on the occasion. The group has pledged two more trucks of relief.
