SRINAGAR, June 22: Authorities in Pahalgam sealed an under-construction hotel at Dahwatoo that was being raised illegally without any permission.
The construction of the hotel started last year and despite being near the Wildlife reserve no action was taken against it.
The notice for sealing the hotel was issued to its owner Arshed Ahmad by the Block Development Officer Pahalgam. He was raising three blocks of the hotel and the BDO has imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 for illegally raising the commercial structure and the building has been sealed.
He has been warned that if he continues the violation, the buildings will be demolished.
“You are also noticed that if any labour is found engaged in construction/reconstruction/alternation of the said complex FIR under relevant Sections of IPC would be lodged against owner and labourers. Any appeal against the said notice shall lie only in the office of undersigned or Sub Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam,” read the notice.
The hotel was coming up in the eco-fragile zone and near the Wildlife reserved area and needs NOC from Wildlife, Forest Department and Environmental clearance.
