Auto industry observes World Anti-Counterfeiting day

NEW DELHI, June 8:  The Auto industry across the country today observed ‘Anti-Counterfeiting Day,’ highlighting how fake products were ruining the industry.
Many of the auto-manufacturers joined hands with the Society for Indian Automobile Manufacturers(SIAM) to what the industry considers a landmark day.
According to industry estimates the spurious auto-parts market in India is worth  Rs 330 billion.
These include customer education through training and interaction with experts, display of banners and posters and distribution of specially designed hand outs to customers. These initiatives would help enhance awareness with relation to counterfeit parts and also promote usage of genuine spare parts.
