SRINAGAR, Nov 21: As the leaves of Chinar trees turn crimson, the Mughal gardens in Kashmir transform into a vibrant symphony of colour, attracting tourists from across the country to witness this breathtaking autumn spectacle.

Though tourists visit the Valley throughout the year, they are especially drawn to the unique charm of autumn. Visiting the Mughal gardens to witness the golden glow of the Chinar trees has become a must on their itineraries.
These days, the famous Nishat garden has become a haven for content creators and tourists, all eager to capture the captivating tapestry of autumn, where each fallen leaf acts as a brushstroke, painting the landscape in vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold.
The golden and brown tones of the Chinar trees provide solace to visitors, offering a serene escape from the chaos of city life. “This season is considered dull in other parts of the country, but here, the red-coloured chinars are amazing. It’s truly captivating. I specifically came to Kashmir to witness the beauty of Chinar in autumn,” said Tania, a tourist from Delhi.
She added that nothing compares to what they are witnessing here in the garden. “The landscape and beauty are serene. It actually feels like heaven on earth,” she said.
Another tourist from Bangalore, who was awestruck by the beauty, expressed how their last-minute decision to visit the maple-laden garden surpassed their expectations. “I was hesitant to visit the garden after seeing the snow in Pahalgam and Sonamarg, but when I arrived, it felt like being transported to a different world. These scenes will be etched in my memory for a lifetime,” the tourist said.
Known locally as “Harud”, this charming season is a prelude to winter, during which residents prepare for the harsh months ahead by collecting essential items like charcoal. However, the Mughal gardens transform into a stunning sanctuary, painting the valley in vivid shades of red, orange, and yellow.
The golden and brownish hues of the Chinar trees offer comfort to nature lovers, providing a peaceful diversion from the bustle of daily life.
