JAMMU, Sept 18: Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas today visited Khour (Naraina School) and Akhnoor area and conducted awareness programme on “avoiding single use of plastic products and water conservation.”
During the programme at the Govt School, Naraina, the students as well as locals from the area also spoke on the desired theme and expressed their worries for such a huge usage of plastic and polythene by the people on daily basis which in turn is polluting the whole atmosphere.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Manahas urged upon the people of area to avoid usage of polythene and at minimum or no usage of Plastic as in rural area where agriculture is prime work for the people plastic and polythene could be disastrous in the upcoming days.
He added that this is for the first time we have been celebrating birthday of the Prime Minister in such a way while indulging ourselves in such activities which are directly beneficial to the society. ” We are continuously organising blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, visiting hospitals distributing food items to the needy, organising awareness camps and which will continue in near future also.”
Manhas further stressed upon the people for remaining united and hopeful as after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir is going to witness new era of all round development that too in a corruption free environment. Present Government has been keen to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir while reaching out to the last person in queue without any discrimination and disparity, he added.
