Awareness of human rights need of hour: Sadhotra

JAMMU, Mar 21: Every human being is entitled to some basic rights and they have to be ensured by every Government.
This was stated by Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra, while addressing a gathering at Raipur Jagir, zone Marh.
Sadhotra said that awareness of human rights is the need of the hour and on their part, everybody should be aware of their rights and fight for them.
“We should also respect the rights of other human beings by creating the consciousness and the awareness regarding human rights among the student community”, Minister added.
To not vote is to opt out of democracy. In a democracy each one of us counts and must stand up to be counted when the occasion arises, he added.
Sadhotra further said that National Conference has an active agenda for political empowerment of weaker sections and called for larger participation of people belonging to these segments in governance and decision making.
Social justice and economic emancipation of the underprivileged classes is corner stone of the cherished agenda of National Conference”, he said.
“Strengthening of National Conference is in the overall interests of the State besides marginalizing communal and divisive elements”, he maintained.
He said Omar Abdullah led coalition Government has been working towards faster development and progress of all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh besides their sub-regions.
“Progress of J&K will be meaningless unless every segment of society gets equal share in development”, he said.
