JAMMU, Apr 4: In view of upcoming Holy Navratras, Food Safety wing of Drugs and Food Control Organization Jammu, conducted one day awareness programme for food business operators and Langar cooks at Bahu Fort shrine.
The programme was conducted by a team of Food Safety Officers under the supervision of Dr Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety, Municipal Limit Jammu. A large number of food business operators situated outside Bawe Wali Mata Temple and cooks of Langers (Blissful Hygiene offering to God) participated in the programme.
Dr Parvesh told the participants to maintain proper infrastructure, use neat and clean vessels to cook food and other eatables and prepare fresh and optimum quality sweets which are used by the devotees as Prasad. They were also asked to maintain personal hygiene at all levels and not to use pieces of news papers, polythene bags as a carrier of sweets.
Later, the Food Safety team comprising food safety officers Ajay Khajuria, Hans Raj Andotra and Daleep Singh also inspected Rehri Zone near parking and issued required instructions and advised them to keep the area neat and clean in order to prevent any kind of cross contamination.
