Awareness programme for ex-servicemen organised

JAMMU, Jan 7: With an aim to inform and aware the ex-servicemen about various Government schemes launched under the Cooperatives framework, an awareness programme was held here today.
Most of the ex-servicemen are already members of the JAK ex-servicemen Cooperative Store Ltd.
A potential tie-up between UNATI Agri-Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society Ltd and JAK ex-servicemen Cooperative Store Ltd was also discussed and explained during the meeting.
The programme was presided over by the Chief Guest, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, (Retd), Chairman, JAK Ex-servicemen Cooperative Store Ltd and the guest of honour, Director of Agriculture, Arvinder Singh Reen, along with Deputy Director (Trainings), Alok Pandotra.
Brig (Dr) Vijay Sagar Dheman, Managing Director of JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store Ltd, conducted the meeting and explained the present working of the JAK Ex-servicemen Cooperative Store which is now changing its product line to Agro products based on the raw materials from the villages like amla, mangoes etc.
The Managing Director told the attendees that the old names of the brand Sainik is changed to Dogra Sainik, Dogra Jawan and Dogra Veer Nari.
The programme followed by a detailed presentation by Vikrant Dogra, Chairman, UNATI, Arvinder Singh Reen and Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal.
During this meeting, the discussed initiatives will be elaborated upon, a membership drive will be conducted and it was decided to enroll large number of ex-servicemen from the three main districts of Jammu, Udhampur and Samba.
This effort aims to unite various cooperatives and ensure the optimal utilization of government-provided facilities.
The meeting was attended by president of J&K Ex-Services League, Maj Gen Sunita Kapoor, along with all staff of the J&K Ex-Services League, district and tehsil presidents of J&K Ex-Services League and many ex-servicemen from the Jammu region.
