JAMMU, Feb 28: Blue Star Ltd in association with Earth Sense Recycle Private Limited (an E-waste Management company) and supported by Jammu and Kashmir State Pollution Control Board, Jammu, organized an awareness program on E- waste Management that was based on creating mass awareness regarding the issue through a mobile collection vehicle.
The Mobile Collection Vehicle was flagged off by Abdul Razak, Chairman, J&K SPCB alongwith Showkat Chowdhary, Regional Director, SPCB Jammu.
The collection vehicle is aimed to cover major colonies, viz., Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar,Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat and Sainik Colony to make consumers / bulk consumers aware about the burning issue and provide an overview of Proper Management of E-waste as per the best practices.
Abdul Razak asserted that only such initiatives can boost collection and channelization of end- of -use electrical and electronic equipments in a scientific manner. He also requested all other Producers to follow the similar initiatives so that things should be done on ground.
