Axis Bank registers 22% growth for Q1

JAMMU, July 22:  Axis Bank registered 22 percent growth in net profit of Rs 1,408.93 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.
The Bank has a net profit of Rs 1,154.15 crore in the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal. The total income of the lender rose to Rs 9,5059.12 crore in the quarter, from Rs 7,818 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
As of June 30, 2013 Axis Bank’s Gross Net Performing Assets (NPAs) rose to 1.10 percent of advances as against 1.06 percent in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
During the quarter, the Bank added 74 branches and 243 ATMs to its network across the country and at the end of 30th June 2013, had a network of 2,021 domestic branches and extension counters and 11,488 ATMs situated in 1,300 cities and towns, compared to 1,674 domestic branches and extension counters, and 10,337 ATMs situated in 1,080 cities and towns last year. The Bank has a presence in UK with its wholly owned subsidiary Axis Bank UK Limited. The total assets under overseas operations were USD 6.72 billion as on 30th June 2013, registering a growth of 9 percent.
