Ayurvedic College to come up by June: Lal Singh

JAMMU, Apr 27: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Departments Ch Lal Singh today said that Government has sanctioned Rs. 26 crore for construction of Government Ayurvedic Medical College at Akhnoor, adding that the project will be  completed by June this year.
This was stated by the Minister during his inspection of the construction site of Ayurvedic Medical College at Akhnoor, here today.
The Minister informed that Ayurvedic College is being constructed at a cost of Rs.26 crore and a Nursing College will be  constructed at Rs. 5.35 crore at Akhnoor. He said  directions have been issued to the  Housing Board to complete both the projects by June this year . He said Government has accorded high priority to health sector and all efforts will be made to provide better healthcare facilities.
Ch Lal Singh said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of the development works in the State and sought cooperation of public in this regard. He directed concerned executing agencies to redouble their efforts and accelerate the pace of work on the ongoing developmental projects in the area for their timely completion. He also called for utilization of quality material and judicious use of funds in execution of the projects.
The Minister said that participation of the people as well as public representatives is imperative for need based and all round development of their areas. He    said that acceptance of the justified demands and taking timely action to redress the grievances of the common people is  priority  for the  Government. He said that various measures aimed at ameliorating the condition of weaker sections of the society have been initiated during the last two months which are showing visible impact on the ground.
Ch Lal Singh said that present Government is committed to provide better amenities like road connectivity, healthcare, education, safe drinking water and un-interrupted power supply to the people. He appealed the people to cooperate with the executive agencies so that the ongoing prestigious projects are completed in time.
