Ayurvedic Hospital organizes free Medical camp

UDHAMPUR, Aug 1: Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu organized a free medical camp and nature study programme here at Mantalai.
The camp and the nature study programme were organized on Sunday under the directions of Dr Abdul Kabir Dar, Director General, Indian Systems of Medicine, to mark the Martyrs Day of Shaheed Udham Singh.
The camp was inaugurated by Balwinder Singh, Sarpanch of Mantalai. During the camp, about 345 patients suffering from different ailments were treated in the camp and free medicines provided to the needy. The Doctors, interns and other staff of the hospital besides students and staff of the Vinayaka Institute of Para Medical Sciences attended the camp.
While speaking on the occasion, Medical Superintendent, Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu, Dr Taran Singh, said that the nature study camp was organized to identify the medicinal plants available in the area of Mantalai. He said that, as mentioned in the ancient Ayurvedic scripts and Vedas the medicinal plants grown in the Himalayas are the best and most suitable for human race.
