Azad asks Govt to befriend oppn for smooth running of RS

NEW DELHI: Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday told the ruling party on the first day of the Winter session of Parliament, that if hand of friendship was extended to opposition parties, proceedings of Parliament will run smoothly.
His remarks came as the House paid tributes to the recently deceased sitting members and former members of the House, including former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Ram Jethmalani and Gurudas Dasgupta after commencement of the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha.
As soon as the hosue commenced proceedings in the Winder session, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu , informing the members of the demise of former Leader of the House, former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Arun Jaitley, Jagannath Mishra, Gurudas Dasgupta and Sukhdev Singh Libra , paid them wholesome tributes to them.
