NEW DELHI, Oct 21: All India Congress Committee general secretary and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, along with a high level delegation arrived in Bangladesh today to attend 29th Triennial Conference of Bangladesh Awami League.
On arrival at Bangbandhu International Airport, at Dhaka, Mr Azad was received by senior party functionaries of Awami League Party of Bangladesh. Mr Azad handed over a special message from Congress president Sonia Gandhi to Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina Wajid this evening during a special meeting with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Congress Party and Awami League of Bangladesh enjoy decades old bond of mutual trust and respect. Mr Azad will address the 20th Triennial Conference of Bangladesh Awami League tomorrow along with other world dignitaries, a party spokesman said.
