Addressing a press conference here today,Mr.Azhad who is here to undertake electioneering for the congress DMK candidates detailed the several schemes implemented by UPA-1 and UPA 2 for Puducherry and said that the N R Congress regeme was a “disaster”for Puducherry.
He said instead of putting up new industries, Mr Rangasamy was closing down existing industrial units. Unemployment has become a major problem and the N R congress has messed up with the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) sanctioned.
He had provided employment to only people of two constituencies (his constituency and that of his Nephew’s). Mr Azad alleged that the NDA government had cut the plan size of the Union Terriotiry by 33 per cent to Rs.1000 crore. Similarly, people in Puducherry are now comparing the functioning of the Congress and N R Congress government and the poll might swing in favour of the Congress-DMK alliance Asked about a post-poll alliance chance, Mr. Azad said the congress-DMK combine would win a minimum of 23 of the 30 seats and then where is the question of a post-poll alliance. Mr.Mukul Wasnik, AICC secretary in charge of Puducherry who was present said that the N R Congress government here was a ‘nightmare’to the people here.
The Government failed in all fronts ,he said adding that education and health sectors suffered a lot and unemployment has become a major issue.Safety and security of the people of Puducherry has become a major issue,he added.
Describing prime minister Narendra Modi and Puducherry chief minister N Rangasamy as “Twin Brothers”, Mr.Wasnik said both of them used to give promises, but never keep them up,Modi at the centre and Rangasmay in Puducherry. (AGENCIES)
