BILLAWAR, Nov 9: Former minister and senior DAP leader, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said that development and peace in Jammu and Kashmir is the top priority of Democratic Azad Party.
Addressing monthly meeting at village Barota in Billawar today, Dr Manohar expressed concern over unemployment and said there was lack of opportunities for the educated youth labour class. “While the youth of J&K is left with no employment opportunity, there is no work even for the labour class,” he said.
Emphasizing that peace and tranquility is essential for development of Jammu and Kashmir, Sharma urged the people to put their maximum efforts in uniting different sections of the society for better future of this region. “Peace is essential for development and we all need to pool our resources to ensure that J&K remains peaceful in all forms,” he said.
He said DAP has embarked upon to unite all sections of society, both in Jammu and Kashmir divisions and work in unison for overall progress and prosperity of the people. Leaders and activists from DAP under the overall guidance of Ghulam Nabi Azad feel privileged to move to the nook and corners of J&K to get the feel of the people so as to raise their genuine issues before the right quarters.
Manohar said Azad is the only Chief Ministerial face who is trusted and tested by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the cadre to join hands for the propagation of the policies and programmes of Azad among the common and needy persons of the J&K.
He said Azad is the first choice of masses as Chief Minister of J&K as it was during the tenure of Azad as CM and Union Minister that large scale developmental works were initiated here, especially in Jammu division.
