JAMMU, Dec 19: Jammu and Kashmir Government, in collaboration with Union Health Ministry and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, is going to organize four-day AROGYA Sammelan in the winter capital of the State from December 21.
The main objective of this conference is to promote Indian System of Medicine (ISM) besides showcasing the benefits of AYUSH system and the inevitable linkage with the medicinal industry.
The Sammelan, a national event, would be organized at Parade Ground, Jammu, in which the stake holders besides the expert doctors, specialists related with traditional system of medicine from in and outside the State would participate.
The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad are expected to inaugurate the programme.
In this regard, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Shabir Ahmed Khan today convened a meeting of concerned departments and reviewed the arrangements ahead of the Sammelan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister underscored the need for ensuring timely arrangements by the concerned departments. He said it was a great opportunity for the State to host such a national event, adding “we should optimally utilize the moment to promote ISM in the State”.
Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Gazanfar Hussian, Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Director Indian System of Medicines, Dr. Ab. Kabir, DIG Police , Jammu , senior officers of other concerned departments, besides representatives of FICCI attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Minister visited the AROGYA fair site at Parade Ground and took stock of the arrangements made by different departments for smooth conduct of the national event.
