JAMMU, Nov 13: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad is arriving on a three days extensive tour of erstwhile Doda district and Jammu beginning tomorrow.
Official sources said Mr Azad would tour remote areas of Banihal district tomorrow, which included Ukhral, Khari, Top Neel etc. On November 15 and 16, he would visit Bhaderwah, Thathri, Doda, Kishtwar and other areas of the districts.
On November 16 evening, he would host Diwali-Eid-Gurupurab Milan at Hotel Hari Niwas Palace before flying back to New Delhi.
Mr Azad’s visit signaled start of the Congress election campaign in three districts of Doda belt including Doda, Kishtwar and Banihal, which together accounted for six Assembly seats, five of which are presently held by the Congress and one by National Conference.
The three districts also accounted for more than one-third votes of Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat.
