NEW DELHI : Senior IAS officer B Pradhan was today appointed as adviser in National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Pradhan, a 1987-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, has been appointed for five years, a Department of Personnel and Training order said.
He has been appointed in place of Anita Bhatnagar Jain. Jain, a 1985-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, had completed her tenure on January 20, 2015.
Pradhan is presently working in his cadre state–Bihar.
NDMA, an apex body under Home Ministry, is mandated to lay down the policies, plans and guidelines for disaster management to ensure timely and effective response to disasters. (AGENCIES)
