JAMMU, Apr 4: Former Chief Secretary B R Kundal today released a book titled ‘Pen Stand’ written by columnist, journalist & heritage conservationist, Dr Satwant Singh Rissam.
The work titled ‘Pen Stand’ is a collection of 101 articles written by Dr Rissam between 2011 and 2021, which have appeared in the columns of leading newspapers and various news media platforms of J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, B R Kundal said that Dr Satwant has covered important events and now bringing out this book is an excellent initiative by the author. He appreciated the initiative of Dr Satwant Singh Rissam.
The book was released in the presence of senior journalists Nishikant Khajuria, Dinesh Manhotra, Surinder Sharma and HoD Political Science, University of Jammu, Prof Baljeet Singh Mann. They also appreciated Dr Satwant Singh for compiling such a book.
Author Dr Satwant Singh Rissam, who also spoke, said that he has always voiced his opinion on contemporary topics, situations and incidents so that discussion and introspection should continue in a healthy manner in our society.
Many prominent citizens of Jammu, including Wing Commander M M Joshi, Prof Satnam Kour, Dr Vinay Thusoo, Advocate Surinder Singh Bunty, Kuldeep Gupta, Satish Sharma and others were present during the event. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Advocate Akshay Gupta.
