JAMMU, Feb 10: Under the initiative of Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA), Jammu to upgrade the knowledge of destitute students of BALGRAN, the State Election Commissioner & former Chief Secretary, B.R Sharma here today gave a lecture on ‘Gratefulness’ to BALGRAN students and interacted with them.
Sharma said that God has given us ‘life’ which is the best thing happening to all of us.
“Life is a mixture of experiences one encounters in the journey of life which ranges from good things to obstacles and challenges,” he further said adding: “Nothing should overawe human beings especially students who must avail the opportunities to become a good human being and a successful person.”
Sharma said that gratefulness has five pillars-sincerity, empathy, integrity, politeness and self-regard. He asked the students to inculcate the habit of practicing four A’s which he counted as Appreciation, Approval, Admiration and Attention.
“All these qualities need to be made integral to lives as these would not only make one surmount all challenges but also good human being,” he maintained.
The students asked questions which Sharma responded. Earlier, president of BALGRAN, Vinod Raina welcomed the former Chief Secretary and other guests and apprised them on objective of this initiative of CGPWA Jammu.
Among those present of the occasion were K.B Jandial, secretary general of CGPWA; Prem Gupta, patron BALGRAN; S.D Swatantra, Ravinder Gupta, Sunil Gupta, Vinod Gupta, J.K Gupta, Ashok Kapoor, Mohit Vij, all members of BALGRAN and Urmil Arora, Principal of Bal Bharti School and teachers.
