B-town pays tribute to martyrs on Mumbai attacks anniversary

MUMBAI, Nov 26:
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Priyanka Chopra today paid tribute to martyrs on the seventh anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists arrived by sea route and opened fire indiscriminately at people killing 166, including 18 security personnel, and injuring several others, besides damaging property worth crores.
Shah Rukh along with entire team of “Dilwale” observed a minute silence in remembrance of the victims before the launch of a song from the film.
“It is an extremely sad day today, for seven years ago in 2008 when the dastardly and most vicious attacks happened in our country, in our city,” the 50-year-old actor said.
“So before we continue with the revelries and celebrations that we are going to go ahead with, as our country has taught us, the city has taught us, in the face of fear, treachery, danger and scare, we should all take one minute, a moment of silence, to give respect to the people who lost their lives, who lost their loved ones seven years ago.”
Shah Rukh added he hopes all those, who have committed acts of terror, are punished.
“Hope we can fight this kind of treachery and these kind of acts with the bravery and with the resilience we have done for years and give punishment to all the people who do these kind of acts.” (PTI)
