SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Former minister and senior vice-president People’s Conference (PC) Abdul Gani Vakil today said that Government’s much hyped ‘Back to Village’ programme of the BJP Government is biggest failure as it is not being implemented on ground anywhere. People are craving for development but the development is missing on the soil.
In a statement issued here, Vakil said B2V programme is the futile exercise of the J&K UT Administration as nothing is being done practical for which the said program was launched by the BJP Government.
No doubt people are made aware of the benefits of B2V programmes but from development point of view on the ground, it is restricted to statements and meetings only.
Vakil stressed on the LG administration to constitute a committee that will probe into it.
“Following the ground work, the B2V programme operating like awareness program as no official was concerned about the ground work implementation,” Vakil added.
“Where is the work, they did during the past two B2V programs. It is totally to befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir, ” Vakil questioned.
“The previous two phases of `Back to Village’ programme failed to deliver what was promised and even failed to issue grant for completed works,’ Vakil added.
He alleged that the programme is mere an eyewash to grab the funds and divert the attention of people from unemployment, poverty and failure to control COVID-19 and other issues.
Vakil urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha administration that they should look into this grave issue and constitute an Administrative Committee for its full implementation and to probe in the mishandling and mismanagement of the programme.
