Baba Hasaldev Cricket Club lifts Peer Baba Cricket Tourney title

SAMBA, Apr 25: Baba Hasaldev Cricket Club, Gurha Slathia, thrashed Railway Colony Cricket Club by 3 wickets and pocketed the title trophy of Peer Baba Cricket Tournament at village Thalori Gujaran of Vijaypur.
On the occasion, Inderjeet Singh Slathia, PDP leader, was the chief guest, who distributed prizes amongst the winner and runner up teams. Abhi Slathia was declared as man of the match and as well man of the series.
While speaking, Inderjeet Singh, impressed upon the budding cricketers to participate in more and more such competitions.
He also threw light on the importance of sports in the day-to-day life and added that sports play pivotal role for the development of the body viz physically and mentally.
He appreciated the efforts of the organizers, to give chance to the players to exhibit their talent and impressed upon them to organize more such tournaments, so that the players will get a platform to display their talent.
Ashwani Kumar, organizing committee member, gave brief of the tournament and said that 16 teams participated in the tournament and was played on knock out basis.
He assured that more such tournaments will be organised in future, for the players, to make them eligible to participate in the State, national and international level competitions and to bring laurels to the State and nation.
