JAMMU, Dec 18: A woman delivered a baby at park of Gandhi Nagar Hospital today due to alleged negligence of the hospital staff due to which the newly born also died.
According to the reports, a man hailing from Miran Sahib area of Jammu took her pregnant wife to Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar after she complained of pain in her lower abdomen.
However, due to ignorance the couple went to OPD instead of emergency of the hospital. In the OPD, the doctor examined the woman and asked her to get conducted some tests of blood and urine instead of admitting her.
The woman gave samples of blood and urine for tests at a private lab outside the hospital and then went to the park of the hospital as they have to collect reports after one hour. Meanwhile, the woman delivered the baby in the park. As there was no immediate medical assistance available and the baby was premature, the newly born was declared as brought dead by the doctors when the mother and baby were shifted in the hospital.
However, no formal complaint against the hospital staff was submitted to the Superintendent of the Hospital or at concerned police station.
