Srinagar, Sept 2: Police today said a baby was killed while sixteen others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said that a vehicle bearing registration number JK13 C-7995 driven by Tariq Ahmad Dar hit a baby namely Zainab at Gadoora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, resulting in her on spot death. Police have arrested the driver and registered a case against him, the spokesman said. A motorcycle bearing registration number JK13B-5996 collided with another motorcycle bearing registration number JK04B-7454 near railway station Kakapora in the district, resulting in injuries to three persons including a lady. “All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the police spokesman said.
He said a Sumo bearing registration number JK02AN-9582 turned turtle near Daksum at Kokernag in Anantnag district, resulting in injuries to eleven passengers. “All the injured were shifted to PHC Larnoo for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
The police spokesman said that a motorcyclist Gony Singh was hit and injured by an unknown vehicle at Dooniwari near Chadoora Crossing in Budgam district. “The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
A Maruti car bearing registration number JK09-0810 driven by Abdul Majid Khawaja hit and injured a minor boy namely Nazim Nabi Wani near Gutingoo crossing at Vilgam in Handwara area of Kupwara district. “The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment wherefrom he was referred to Srinagar for further treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the police spokesman added.
