JAMMU, Apr 2: A one-year-old female baby was killed today after being hit by a tractor-trolley in Bajalta area of city outskirts.
“Khushi, daughter of Keshav, resident of Jhansi (at present Bajalta), was playing near a construction site in Bajalta area, where their parents were working as labourers, when she was hit by a tractor-trolley while driver tried to reverse the vehicle”, a police official said.
He said that baby was badly injured in the mishap following which she was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased child was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites”, he added.
In this connection, a case was registered at police station Nagrota and investigations started while efforts were on to nab the absconding tractor driver.
