Backward Classes Union flays Govt

JAMMU, Sept 30: All J&K Backward Classes Union has criticized the State Government for its failure to provide justice to the members of this community.
In a meeting of the Union held here today under the chairmanship Ayodhya Kumar Manawa, president Prajapati Sabha here today, several members expressed their concern over the attitude of the State Government. They said that OBCs are facing discrimination as the Government has failed to proivide them 27 % reservation in the State. They said all other States have been providing this benefit but here in J&K they are deprived of this benefit.
They alleged that major share is being provided to the people under Backward Area in J&K while this OBC community is being ignored. They also flayed the role of J&K OBC Development Board. Others present in the meeting included Kasturi Lal Basotra, Vaishno Dutt Dogra, R L Chargotra, K C Raina and Bansi Lal Choudhary. It was also decided in the meeting to support Youth OBC Mahasabha Mashal rally on October 2 in Jammu.
Meanwhile, All India Backward Classes Union (Social), Kathua unit has also projected the demand of 27 % reservation in favour of OBCs. Anil Kumar Kashyap district president of the organisation said that Government should not mis-use the article 370 which provides special status to the State. He demanded that actual share in jobs be provided to the members of OBC community by the Government.
