SRINAGAR, Mar 13: The residents of Grid Colony Wanganpora, Eidgah are suffering due to the pathetic condition of a link road leading from the Dr Ali Jan Road towards the colony.
The road has been rendered useless after the work of laying of drainage pipes was taken up. However, the work was completed but the road was not repaired since then.
The residents are stuck between two departments, who are now resorting to blame game. The PHE department and the department which lay the drainage pipes are not buying the grievances of the residents at all.
“Nobody seems concerned about the issue that we are facing; they did the work laying the pipes, but they seem to have forgotten to repair the road,” Majid Farooq, a resident said.
The residents are saying that they are facing immense hardships due to the bad condition of the road and are not even able to reach Masjid during the day while as facing other day to day issues.
“Few days ago, there was a fire incident in the area, the fire tenders could not reach the spot, because of the bad condition of the road in the area; it is really pathetic that the administration is turning a blind eye towards the issue,” the residents said.
They are appealing the district administration as well as the concerned department to take the cognizance of the issue and initiate repair works of the road immediately.
“The departments should shun the approach of blaming each other and get us out of the miseries that we are facing regularly; we appeal the administration to do the needful,” they said.
