Bad road triggers protest

JAMMU, Jan 17: Residents of Mandlik Nagar and Toph here today staged a protest demonstration against PWD and JMC for dilapidated condition of the main road.
The protest was held under the banner of Mandlik Nagar Welfare Committee (MWC) wherein leaders of Dogra Youth also participated.
Ch. Rattan Lal, president MWC led the protest in which Arun Mehra, general secretary MWC; Bhanu Partap Singh, activist Dogra Youth and Partap Singh Jamwal, political activist also participated.
The protesters said that the road is full of potholes due to which accidents take place there and it also becomes difficult to walk on the road during rainfall as water gets accumulated there.
Arun Mehra said though they demanded blacktopping of the road yet no action was taken by the PWD and JMC in this regard.
The protesters threatened massive agitation if the road is not repaired soon.
P.C Sharma, Rasha, B.L Raina, Rampal Sharma, Sandokh, Madan Lal, Mohan Lal Sharma, Rampal, S.S Chib, Ashok, Balwan, J.R Sharma, Shiv Lal, Ashwani, Balwant Sharma, Ramesh Chander, Vickey Khajuria, Jagdish Raj, Baj Singh, Bachan Lal, Raju, Ankush, Vijay, Sanjeev, Bodh Raj, Rajinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Ramesh Singh, Shatru Singh, Sanjeev Sood and others were also present in the protest.
