NEW DELHI: Several flights were affected at the airport here today, with many of them getting delayed and some being cancelled, as bad weather caused poor runway visibility conditions.
Besides, there were diversions of two international flights. One Air India flight from Paris was diverted to Mumbai while an Oman Air flight from Muscat was diverted to Jaipur, airport officials said.
Scores of flights were delayed on account of poor runway visibility while some were cancelled in the early morning hours. Most arrivals were unaffected, the officials added.
Airport authorities implemented low visibility procedures.
On Thursday, more than 100 flights were delayed due to dense fog in the morning apart from 16 cancellations for “other reasons”.
A total of more than 200 arrivals and departures of flights were affected on account of weather as well as “other reasons”.
The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport here, busiest in the country, handles around 1,100 movements per day. (AGENCIES)
