BADP grant be enhanced: MP

R.S.PURA, Apr 3: Member Parliament M L Sharma has strongly voiced on the issues of refugees and border people.
While addressing a gathering at village Sai Kalan in R. S Pura Mr. Sharma informed that due to the co-ordinated efforts of Congress, Govt. Of India has issued directions to the State Govt. to resolve the long pending issues of refugees in the State like providing them Haq-e-Marusi (ownership rights) and their one time settlement and other demands. He said that he has voiced this issue strongly in the Parliament also and is strongly pressing it with both Centre and State Governments.
Mr. Sharma also demanded that the BADP grant should be enhanced as the present allocation is not enough even to cater to the basic enmities for the border populace . He also directed the officers to strictly follow the Govt. guidelines while making proposal and implementation of BADP schemes which clearly defines the area which can be undertaken for works under BADP can be initiated but violations are seen which defeats the basic purpose of the scheme. Mr. Sharma also said that he has approached the Defence and Home Ministry for special recruitment from border areas and has got assurance for the same.
Manjit Singh Ex.Minister also spoke on the occasion and raised the local issues he also demanded a package for border villages and recruitment of youth in Paramilitary forces, Army and Police.
Earlier Mr. Sharma inaugurates a community hall at Baspur Bunglow R.S Pura where he has contributed Rs.20 lacs for construction of said Hall out of his MP LADS Fund. Prominent present on the occasion included T.S Bajwa Ex.MP , T.S Tony, Rajesh Bitto, Manmohan Choudhary, Ch. Partap, Dr.Karan Bhagat, Sarpanchs/Panchs and many more.
